Route 1 Velo

Route 1 Velo has maintained its presence in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for nearly two decades. The team is a sanctioned United States Cycling Federation team in the District 20 region.

Route 1 Velo promotes the Greenbelt National Park Training Race Series, which is a sanctioned USCF event that takes place each Wednesday night for 16 consecutive weeks during the racing season. It is one of the oldest active training series in the nation and is the largest attended event in the entire D20 region.

The Greenbelt National Park Training Races

Beginning on April 30, 2008: Over 100 riders show up weekly to compete for points and prizes in either the A, B or C races held each Wednesday night. You can find out more about our training race series by clicking on the Greenbelt section along the top navigation bar above and then selecting either General Info or Race Results to learn more about our weekly event that continues for 4 months beginning every May. Come out to participate in the oldest active training series in the nation. We look forward to seeing you there.
