Route 1 Velo Donates To Special Olympics

Route 1 Velo presented a $3,500 check to the Maryland Special Olympics at the Hyattsville city council meeting on April 12 with the Hyattsville mayor, chief of police, and other council members all present. R1V was able to do this because of the hard work of the team putting on the extremely successful first edition of our cyclocross race in Hyattsville. Special kudos goes to the team members promoting the race, including Scott Cernich, Bill Schieken, Ryan Douglas, Jeff Travis, Steve Poole, Chris Militello, Chris Davidson, and many others.

Chris Militello and Chris Davidson at Arrow Bicycle fostered this great relationship with Special Olympics through their coaching, sponsorship, and all around good deeds that has engendered an atmosphere that makes the Hyattsville mayor and city council really want to work with the club and sets the stage for a 2010 edition of the race. The town's excitement and appreciation was very apparent and R1V is proud of their involvement with this great group of people.
